Many data breaches start with a compromised account from one of a company’s employees. Jérôme Berloty and Benjamin Netter decided to build a product based on that fact and launched Riot in 2020. ‍ Based in Paris, France, Riot combines learning modules and phishing simulations to raise cyber awareness and solve compliance needs. The courses are chat-based, five minutes long, and immersive and interactive, making learning more entertaining. ‍

With organizations becoming increasingly digitally connected, a lack of visibility into their vendors’ security diligence has made exploiting these relationships a go-to tactic for cybercriminals. Fifty-four percent of publicly reported breaches in the last two years have been due to third parties, vendors, or suppliers, representing one of the greatest cybersecurity risks. Additionally, 98% of organizations have at least one vendor that’s had a breach in the last two years.

Security teams rely on vulnerability scanners to proactively locate vulnerabilities in network devices, hosts, and applications. These tools help improve the overall security posture of the network by remediating exposure before bad actors have an opportunity to exploit it. Although incredibly helpful, the data delivered by these tools is often overwhelming and not presented in an actionable manner.
