The ads impersonate apps that are restricted in China, such as Telegram or LINE. “The threat actor is abusing Google advertiser accounts to create malicious ads and pointing them to pages where unsuspecting users will download Remote Administration Trojan (RATs) instead,” Malwarebytes says.
