Keeper 101 - How to Share a Keeper Record on iOS

Keeper’s iOS mobile app makes it easy to securely share records with friends and family.

To share a record with another Keeper user, select the record from your vault and tap Share, then Share with User. Enter the user's email address or select it from the dropdown, then use the toggle buttons to choose what permissions the user will receive such as: “Can Edit”, “Can Share” and "Make Owner".

If you do not enable any permissions, the user will have “view only” access. Upon tapping Save, the user will receive an email notifying them that you have shared a record.

If this is the first time you are sharing with this person, you will need to establish a "sharing relationship". The user will receive an email prompting them to log in to Keeper and accept the share request.

Next, I will review how to create a Shared Folder. Shared Folders allow you to share any number of records with one or more Keeper users. Tap the Create Button and Create Shared Folder. Enter a name for the folder and tap Save.

The new folder will now appear in your records list. To share the folder with other Keeper users, select the folder, then tap the ellipsis menu icon. Tap Manage Users & Records and enter the email address of the user you would like to share the folder with.

Next, you will need to assign permissions and add records to the Shared Folder. You can assign different permissions for each user by tapping on their email address within the “Users” tab. If you do not make any changes to the user permissions, by default, the user will have “view only” access to the records in the folder.

Switch to the “Records” tab to begin adding records to the folder by selecting them from the dropdown list. Tap Save when you are done. Similar to the web vault, you can also add records to the folder from the main “My Vault” screen via drag-and-drop.
