Keeper 101 - How to Create a Keeper Record on iOS
To create a record from Keeper’s iOS app, tap the create new icon, then select Create New Record. Use the “record type” dropdown at the top of the screen to select what kind of record this will be. By default, the “Login” record type will be selected.
Enter a “Title” for the record along with a username and password, if applicable to the record type you selected. For commonly used websites, suggestions will appear as you type. Selecting one of the suggested options will automatically fill the “Website Address” field in the record. You can also have Keeper generate a secure, random password for you by tapping the dice icon.
It’s important to note, using our password generator will not automatically change the website's existing login password. You still must visit the corresponding website's "Change Password" form to update the old password to match the new, stronger password.
You will notice there are other items you are able to add to the record, like file and photo attachments with Keeper's Secure File Storage add-on, two-factor codes and custom fields. You can explore these features in more detail in our End-User Guides which I’ve linked in the description below. Lastly, you can enter any notes for the record.
When you are finished creating your record, tap Save. The record will now appear within your vault. Simply tap the launch icon next to the website address where you can now refer to your Keeper record when logging in.
To take full advantage of Keeper, we recommend that you enable KeeperFill in your device’s settings menu. KeeperFill will automatically fill your usernames and passwords into websites and apps. To learn more about KeeperFill for iOS visit the link in the description below.
