Over the years building Calico, we have gotten to see the Kubernetes user journey for various organizations. We have seen many users focus on getting their workloads deployed in Kubernetes without thinking through their security or observability strategy, and then struggle as they try to understand how to secure and observe such a complex distributed system.

Earlier this year, we published an early release copy of a new ebook, Kubernetes Security and Observability – A Holistic Approach to Securing and Troubleshooting Cloud Native Applications, in partnership with O’Reilly Media. The book helps to guide organizations towards a holistic security and observability strategy across a breadth of factors, and shares best practices and tools to accelerate Kubernetes adoption.
