BlueVoyant Strengthens Cyber Defence for ODEON Cinemas Group Across Eight Countries

The collaboration delivers 24/7 protection, rapid incident response, and enhanced visibility into third‑party risk, significantly reducing operational noise and strengthening OCG's overall cyber resilience.
Growing Cyber Risks Highlight the Urgency for Streamlined Operations
OCG welcomes millions of guests each year to more than 280 cinemas across Europe. As the cinema exhibition industry faces a growing wave of cyber-attacks, from disruptions to ticketing and concessions systems to breaches involving customer data, OCG requires an increasingly proactive and integrated approach to its cybersecurity.
With nearly 50 different log sources and a diverse technology landscape, OCG needed a partner capable of centralising operations, improving visibility, and reducing the burden on regional InfoSec teams.
OCG's previous security provider operated largely as an alert‑forwarding service, offering limited proactive tuning and no ongoing use‑case development. This left internal teams overwhelmed by unnecessary alerts and without the strategic support required to stay ahead of evolving threats.
Comprehensive Security Diagnostic Reveals Critical Gaps
To gain clarity on its security posture, OCG commissioned a BlueVoyant Security Diagnostic, which confirmed gaps in alert logic, configuration weaknesses in Microsoft Defender XDR, and a legacy SIEM that were adding costs without delivering proportional value. The diagnostic provided the evidence and roadmap OCG needed to modernise its approach and consolidate services under a single, trusted partner.
Following the Diagnostic, BlueVoyant migrated OCG from its legacy SIEM to Microsoft Sentinel, enabling improved visibility, cost control, and long‑term scalability. OCG was then onboarded to BlueVoyant's MDR for Microsoft service, supporting both Sentinel and its existing Defender XDR deployment. During the onboarding BlueVoyant also identified opportunities to strengthen OCG's Defender configuration, further increasing endpoint protection across the estate.

Furthermore, BlueVoyant delivers comprehensive third‑party risk management (TPRM) which provides continuous monitoring of OCG's extensive supplier network, pre‑procurement assessments, and directed remediation for critical vendors.
The partnership has already paid dividends. OCG has achieved a 98% reduction in alerts, allowing its regional teams to focus on strategic initiatives rather than noise. BlueVoyant's TPRM monitoring has helped to resolve an average of seven critical or high‑severity supplier vulnerabilities each month, whilst security incidents have been contained quickly thanks to BlueVoyant's DFIR team.
