A recap of my time at the CNCF’s signature conference, KubeCon + CloudNativeCon NA 2021. What an amazing week at the first in-person KubeCon + CloudNativeCon since the pandemic started. This KubeCon set a precedent as one of the first major conferences to bring back an in-person component! The theme this time around was Resilience Realized, and they put this on display at the top of the convention hall.

The 2021 Egnyte for Life Sciences Summit is in the books, and it was a big success. Biotech visionaries and industry analysts came together to outline the future of the life sciences as we emerge from the pandemic constraints and look to ramp up to our new normal. We presented over four hours of content, with hundreds of life science organizations attending.

UpGuard Summit is UpGuard’s quarterly virtual event where we discuss the future of cybersecurity with security leaders across the globe. During the latest UpGuard Summit, on August 18, 2021, some exciting announcements were made about new and upcoming features. The details are summarized below.

Black Hat USA is one of the industry’s oldest and most well-established security events. Last year, the conference was held virtually for the first time in its history. This year’s conference brought together the best of both worlds, with a hybrid event that was held virtually and in person in Las Vegas. Historically, Black Hat has seen about 20,000 attendees at its in-person conference.

Black Hat USA 2021 kicked off this week and we enjoyed the show! In addition to hosting a Cards and Coding virtual casino night to discuss the future of cybersecurity (and give away some prizes), we held a Lunch & Learn with Wallace Dalrymple, CISO of Emerging Markets at Advantasure.

Members of the cybersecurity industry — including the Devo team — are gathering this week for the annual Black Hat USA conference in Las Vegas. Some will be present in person. Many others will participate virtually due to travel issues related to the pandemic. In either case, the latest edition of Black Hat, and its home city, have me thinking about cybersecurity and… gambling.

For the first time in its 30-year history, the 2021 RSA Conference was a virtual-only event, and not in its usual time during the spring. But, with 20,000 registrants joining for the various sessions, it was a testament to this year’s conference theme of resilience.

A couple of weeks ago The Payments Canada SUMMIT gathered more than 2,000 delegates from financial institutions in Canada and around the world for a virtual one-week conference. INETCO was a sponsor of Canada’s premier payments event. Our team participated in industry discussions, met peers, and learned more about future innovation opportunities in the financial ecosystem. 2021 was a record-breaking year for The Payments Canada SUMMIT.
