Netwrix Data Remediation Workflows - Overview

New Data Remediation Workflows functionality, available in Netwrix Data Classification, enables you to reduce the exposure of critical and regulated data by automatically moving it to a quarantine area, redacting regulated pieces of information from it and removing excessive permissions to it.

With business users creating and sharing data across dynamic and complex environments all the time, it’s getting harder to protect critical and regulated information from data breaches.
Introducing Data Remediation Workflows. This new Netwrix functionality enables data security teams to build an automatic remediation process to reduce the exposure of sensitive data, saving months of manual work. Let’s see it in action.

  • A sensitive document sometimes pops up in unsafe locations. You can build a workflow that will automatically move it to a designated quarantine area and send you a notification email about the event, so you can quickly take action regarding newly discovered sensitive data.
  • Sometimes you might need to make files available for particular users, yet hide sensitive information they are not supposed to see, such as credit card data or national insurance numbers. You can design a workflow that will automatically detect and redact specific sensitive content from files as they are being moved, while keeping the rest of the data intact to ensure continued employee productivity.
  • Suppose a global security group like Everyone has rights to read or modify sensitive data. You can establish a workflow that will remove those rights to reduce your attack surface area, and then watch for any new excessive permissions that might be granted and automatically remove them before they can be misused.
